get yo APB stickerz hereaussie phone brotherhood
Here you will find the ravings of several lads who have an obscene fascination with phones.

Brother No Frills Franklyn
A couple of years have passed and I haven't updated the page at all.  If anyone emails me about the "straw trick" again I will get rather irate.  So do I have any new knowledge to impart on you all?  Not really.  Been somewhat busy of late.

like my ironing board cover?A lot of people are throwing out analogue mobile phones or trading them in when buying a gsm phone.  I on the other hand annoy these people to just give them to me so I can make my bedroom look more geeky.

The picture on the right is of the first mobile phone I ever owned, an NEC Sportz.  In the end I got it disconnected because I couldn't be bothered getting the battery repacked and I never got any calls anyway.  Towards the end of its working life though I powered it for a while on AA batteries as can be seen in the pic.

anyone have a spare battery?haven't tested it yetthe ubiquitousthe futilethe outdated

From left to right we have a nokia 1000 (THA-9), nokia sprinter (THA-95C), early telecom badged motorola flip, motorola dpc650.  I have a Nokia 5110, 6110 and 8210 and a motorola 1-888 in my GSM collection in my GSM collection. I've no idea what I'm going to do with these phones, but I'll think of something I'm sure.  My plan is when they supposedly stop using the analogue network I will become a fugitive running my own network.  I should have enough phones by then to equip everyone who counts..

Wanting to call a shareware board overseas just for the hell of it?  There are several internet outdials that do actually work.  If you have any more to add to the list or any of them have gone down, make sure you drop me an email.

wait, is that a hungry jacks voucher?Huddling with the cockroaches, Telstra employees can sometimes be seen messing about inside these pits.  Well, sometimes they can't be seen as they set up a cute little tent over the top, but still!

Often they kindly leave their van parked nearby with the backdoor open so you can have a peek at their wares.

A most security conscious bunch of workers indeed.

If you haven't read the Neurocactus magazines be sure to check them out.  "The not so informational  light hearted H/P magazine" actually has some interesting articles.  Do you have the missing issue? There are also a couple of other zines with phone related info on www.mindrape.org.

More information can be gained from reading the CORE magazines.  Issue 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

phones have rights too!New Smartcard Payphones..  Well, after the problems that Telstra were having with their older X? phones they did something about it.  You can pick the newer phones by the "Phonewatch" insignia located where the phone usage diagrams used to be.  (Why anyone would call a 13XXXX number to report phone buggery is beyond me, like we'll pay).  You can also pick them by a dialing quirk Telstra seems to have put in place.  The tones for the first few numbers you dial can be heard, but it then pauses till you're done and throws the DTMF down the line one by one.  I have seen old smartcard phones approx. 4 hours out of Brisbane but they seem to have the city/suburbs fixed.  In a couple of problem areas the phones also have a rather thick piece of metal replacing the old coin slot so stupid scams are not so easy to achieve.  Now they need to think about fixing the coin return button.

Brother Hotfingers Hooligann
Ever wondered what number the smartcard phone you're trying to use is dialing when it says "phone busy - please, wait a moment"?  Thanks to a little effort on behalf of myself and Brother Franklyn, wonder no longer.  The magic number is 1-800-633-047.  Initially I suspected the modems in the smartphones would be non-standard but I was wrong.  Here's a log of a modem connect to the number.

Bonus Dildo footage.

windex baby. dont worry telstra, pure publicity shot.
